ODESSA AVIANNA PEREZ, MA, LMFT
I know from my own experience that finding the right therapist—someone who truly understands the intersections of your identity—is the most important step.
I’m a mixed-race, cis woman (she/her) of Puerto Rican and European heritage. I grew up on the East Coast, which means I bring a certain frankness, humor, and directness to my work. My own journey of navigating multiple identities, healing from intergenerational patterns, and learning to feel at home in my own body is what informs my passion for this work.
As a somatic psychotherapist, dance facilitator, and bodyworker, I hold a deep and diverse knowledge of how the body stores and processes experience. My style is warm, relational, and grounded. I can hold space for the mystical and spiritual (I have a background in Western Sufism and energy healing) while staying firmly rooted in the realities of power, oppression, and the science of our nervous systems.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I facilitate somatic and dance-based workshops, provide DEI and social justice consultation, and am proud to have been a collaborator with organizations like the Decolonizing Wealth Project and SoulPlay.
